Also called "Tiger Grass", is an attractive ornamental grass in combination with flowers in traditional and wild gardens.
The grass grows annularly without forming offshoots.
It produces overhanging leaves and feather-like, silvery brown blooms.

GERMINATION INSTRUCTIONS
Sow indoors for surest results from March to May 5 mm deep, in trays of compost. Water well and enclose in a clear, plastic bag to retain humiditiy. Place on a kitchen windowsill.
A temperature of +20C is ideal.
Seedlings usually appear in 15-25 days. If not, place tray in the refrigerator for two weeks, then return to the warmth.
Transplant seedlings individually to 7.5cm pots when large enough to handle. Gradually accustom young plants to outside conditions (avoid frosts), before planting out into moist, fertile soil, May-August, 90cm, apart, when frosts are over.
