Annual Cornflower is excellent, rich blooming cut flowers with long-lasting blooming time.
Grows up to 70 cm tall.
Flowers - shades of pink - from June to September..
This mixture has a lasting effect especially through its silver glossy leaves.
Grows easy and well in homous, limy garden soil. Can be cut several times. Attracts bees.
Plant these in sunny sites with well-drained soil and remove spent flowers to prolong bloom time. Cornflower is a useful cutflower and a cottage garden favorite, but it self sows and may naturalize.

GERMINATION INSTRUCTIONS
Sowing Direct :
Sow thinly, 3 mm deep in drills 30 cm apart in well-cultivated soil which has been raked to a fine tilth. Water ground regularly, especially in dry periods.
When large enough to handle, thin out seedlings to 15 cm apart
Sowing Indoors:
Sow in pots or trays of moist seed compost and cover with a very fine sprinkling of compost or vermiculite. After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination. Keep at +15-+20C. Keep the surface of the compost moist but not waterlogged. Germination will usually take 14-21 days.
When they are large enough to handle, transplant the seedlings into 7 cm pots or trays.
Overwinter plants in cool, light, frost-free conditions before planting out the following spring, or grow on as greenhouse pot plants.
