In its natural environment, the plant can be found in mountainous areas of Europe, e.g. in the Tatra mountains. It is a small perennial plant with an erect, tufted shape, usually growing up to 25 cm in height. The stems are thin and the leaves are lanceolate.
It blooms from June to July with small, five-petalled blue flowers arranged in inflorescences.
The plant grows best in slightly sunny or slightly shaded areas. Undemanding to the quality of the soil, but fertile, humus-rich, conductive. Fertilize several times per season.
Suitable for growing in containers, balcony beds, flowerpots, at the edges of flower gardens in rows and groups, rock gardens
