Lime for tree bleaching TARGET with increased adhesion. Used to bleach the trunks of trees and shrubs to prevent the effects of so-called winter burns. It is also designed to reduce soil acidity.
Painting the trunks with lime is a very important winter procedure in orchards. When painting trunks and thick branches, white reflects sunlight and protects against overheating. Excessively warmed tree trunks, especially in spring, give a signal to start vegetation, which can freeze the flower buds if started too early.
Painting also protects against cold cracks and wounds caused by sudden drops in temperature.
Liming is a very important treatment of acid soils to increase the pH of the substrate to a weakly acidic, neutral or alkaline one. Lime oxide is especially recommended for heavy soils, is clayey and compact. It has the properties of improving the structure of the soil - it loosens the compacted soil, creates a cumulative structure that allows water and air to accumulate in the gaps. The oxide form of lime acts very quickly. Calcium is also a very important macronutrient for plant development. It improves the absorption of phosphorus, potassium, magnesium and trace elements. It also has the ability to bind heavy metals harmful to plants from the soil, including cadmium, lead, chromium. Soil liming has a positive effect on crop quality. For example, tomatoes that are deficient in calcium develop a disease called dry rot.
Tree bleaching:
from December to March. The first painting should be done in December. However, if the white layer is washed away, the bleaching should be repeated to keep the trees white until March.
Prepare a solution for painting trees - gradually add lime to 1 liter of water, stirring constantly, until you get a thick solution.
Do not allow lime or lime solution to get into the eyes during treatment.
Soil liming (acidification reduction):
To reduce the acidity of the soil, the lime should be added every 2-3 years.
The best time to use lime is in the autumn - after the end of the growing season, but it is also possible to use it in the early spring - before the start of the growing season.
One 1 kg package is enough for an area of about 12 m2.
The treatment is best done when the soil is moist. Scatter the land.
Wear protective gloves and eye protection when working.
