A useful kitchen mint with lots of large, slightly hairy green leaves with a fresh minty smell when chopped. It quickly spreads but you can easily keep it in check by planting in a pot which is then sunk into the ground to stop the roots spreading. Pick the leaves as needed. Scent and flavour described by some as simmilar to apples or pineapples.
Grows well in sun or partial shade. Ideal for the front of a border, great for a container too.
Trim back in midsummer to encourage a second flush of leaves for picking later in the season. Use a good quality general purpose compost for container growing.
Particularly good for mint jelly. Add the leaves to sauces and salads. May be used to flavour cold drinks and herbal teas.
Approximately 300 seeds in 0.1g packet.
