An annual plant, 20-30 cm high, vigorously bushing with a spherical shape. The value of this form is the contrast of the purple-green leaves and the scarlet, calyx flowers, appearing from July to the first frost.
Extremely easy to grow in beds, borders, mixed plantings, rock gardens, herb gardens, edgings over walls or as annual ground covers on slopes or other sunny areas.
They are also effective in containers, including hanging baskets.
Except for roots, all plant parts (leaves, buds, flowers, pods and seeds) are edible (peppery flavor) and may be used in salads.

GERMINATION INSTRUCTIONS
Sow seeds indoors from February to May in trays of seed compost or directly in to the soil after the last frost from April to May.
Sow thinly, cover with 10-15 mm of soil. Firm gently, keep moist.
Seedlings appear in 14-21 days.
Seeds can be sown outdoors just after the last frost until the beginning of June.
Sow in prepared seed bed in flowering position.
Sow 2 seeds together with 30 cm between pairs. Cover lightly with 15 mm soil and keep moist till germination.
