An annual plant with roughly hairy, pinnate leaves forming a rosette. Flowering shoots branched, roughly winged, ending with spiky inflorescences.
Small, multicolored flowers, perfect for drying off. Sowing seeds from March to April, under covers. Leave them permanently in May. It blooms from August to October.
Likes permeable soils rich in calcium.
It is mainly grown as material for live and dry bouquets and wreaths. It can also be a discount decoration.

GERMINATION INSTRUCTIONS
The planting period depends on which area to plants. In Western Europe, it is common to plant from December through to April, whereby specially the December planting generates flowering for early spring, when flower prices usually are higher.
In the Mediterranean area, it is recommended to plant in fall thus benefitting a good winter yield. In countries around the equator, year-round planting is possible.
